Sony S1 and S2 Android Tablets Caught on Video, Again

It seems Sony is making a habit of teasing the S1 and S2 Android tablets, first by releasing an artsy demo video with a Rube Goldberg aesthetic, and then by showing them off in public.

Now, Sony is back with a second teaser video that like the previous video shirks showing off the tablets’ functionality in favor of geeky whimsy.

For those that prefer a more traditional look at the innovative tablet designs, the good folks at Notebook Italia managed to snap some stills of both the S1 and S2, and shoot a video that showcases the PlayStation Suite.

Meanwhile, another Italian site, HDblog has also managed to score some hands-on time with both the S1 and S2 while capturing both on camera and video.

The S1 and S2 will be Sony’s first Android tablets. The S1 will have a 9.4-inch screen and thin body that extends past the display and folds over similar to a magazine. The S2 will sport two 5.5-inch displays in a clamshell-like design. Sony has been silent on additional specs, only stating that the S1 and S2 will support Wi-Fi, 3G/4G, and run Google Android, most likely Honeycomb. The S1 may be targeted as a remote screen accessory for Sony Bravia HDTVs, similar to the Vizio Via Tab.

Both S1 and S2 are scheduled to ship this fall and are rumored to run $599 and $699, respectively.
