It looks like the Sony Tablet P will be receiving the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS (4.0) next week, a month later than originally scheduled.
While the Tablet S was updated in April, the Tablet P was supposed to receive the update around the same time. Sony has announced that owners of the Tablet P can finally get their hands on the latest software on May 24 through an over-the-air download.
The update comes with a handful of additions and enhancements including a new browser which lets users switch between desktop and mobile versions with a touch of a button. Other features include Small Apps, which lets users open a miniature browser window, calculator, or remote control on top of supported apps, and the ability to access the camera straight from the lock screen in addition to a panorama function.
Sony claims that the update is for Japan, but a worldwide update can’t be far behind.
