One of the most fun parts of following technology and writing about it is the speculation. Just like anticipating what might happen on the next episode of an HBO original series or waiting for October baseball, it is fun to guess what features or exciting new devices may be released by the big players (i.e. Sony, Dell, HP, Apple, etc.).
At the CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association) EXPO 2005 which took place September 7 – 11 in Indianapolis, the Sony booth displayed a very cool device that is almost a Tablet PC. So where do I go from here? I’ll tell you. We have heard some great dirt on Dell’s plans to release Tablet PC’s. Sony? This company has always loved to take newer technologies and do there “own spin” on it. I am thinking (ok “strongly speculating”) that they are quietly waiting to see who does what. Then, just when you think the others have done the Tablet PC the best it can be done, Sony will strike with some very expensive yet VERY desireable model. My guess – Super thin, stylish as all get out and probably one of the best displays possible. Where am I getting all these ideas? Looking at all the thought that went into this Tablet device, I am thinking that Sony must be going in the Tablet direction and we might as well just call this a preview of what is to come. Well we’ll just have to wait and see. In the meanwhile, feel free to get more info. on this Sony device which they call: the “Wireless LocationFree TV”, by browsing this interesting coverage of the device last May by engadget:
