The swirling rumors have settled and Sprint has officially announced a launch date and price for the HTC EVO View 4G, Sprint’s darker, more data-capable version of the HTC Flyer.
An internal Sprint document leaked out late last week that slated the EVO View 4G launch for June 24, and it turns out this was completely accurate. The EVO View 4G will go on sale at 8 a.m. on June 24, and will cost $400 with a two-year contract from Sprint.
The View 4G is almost identical to the recently reviewed HTC Flyer, with a tweaked look and 4G. It features a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon processor, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), a seven-inch display with 1024 x 600 resolution, and the HTC Sense UI.
After spending time with the Flyer, TabletPCReview was “happy to report that it’s not just another Android tablet,” and managed, with its pen capabilities, to provide a unique tablet-ing experience. The View 4G will have the same focus on pen use.
When it arrives, rate plans for the View 4G will begin at $35 per month for 3 GB of 3G data and unlimited use of Sprint’s 4G network.
