Sprint logoSprint has plans to add more variety to its selection of 4G devices, as the company’s president of business markets Paget Alves recently stated in an interview with Forbes that a 4G tablet is on its way in 2011.

Despite being unable to confirm what manufacturer would be making the 4G tablet, Alves did mention that the company would soon be providing tablets that ran on other operating systems besides the Android OS, which was featured on the company’s only available tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab.

Offering another tablet option could be beneficial for Sprint, as Alves claimed that 70 to 80% of the Chief Information Officers that Sprint talks to have expressed interest in distributing tablets in the workplace.

“The adoption rate for tablets in the business sector is much, much faster than we expected,” Alves said in the interview, adding that while it would be unlikely that a company’s entire workforce would receive a tablet, a “meaningful proportion” probably would.
