SteelSeries Stratus Wireless Gaming Controller Headed for the iPad, iPhone

The goal of the the newly-announced SteelSeries Stratus Wireless Gaming Controller is to provide a fully immersive gaming experience on an Apple Tablet or phone.

SteelSeries Stratus Wireless Gaming ControllerThe Stratus will be a traditional console-style gameplay controller, specifically designed for use with devices running iOS 7 — the controller is going to be compatible with iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch.

Developers can now create more advanced video games that use traditional console control schemes to provide users with a more challenging and immersive experience. The Stratus will also support multi-player gaming, with four controllers able to simultaneously connect to a single device.

This accessory will have a familiar console-style layout, including a pressure-sensitive directional pad, four pressure-sensitive action buttons, and four pressure-sensitive shoulder buttons. It is also going to feature dual analogue sticks and an on/off switch to save power (estimated battery life is 10 hours). The controller connects to tablets or phones via Bluetooth.

The SteelSeries Stratus Wireless Gaming Controller is available now pre-order at, and is priced at $100 at the time of this writing.
