Newer New iPad
Never mind the iPad Mini, rumor has it Apple will release a redesigned third-generation iPad for Q4, just in time for the holidays. The newer “new iPad” will be thinner, matching the thinness of the iPad 2 in fact, and run cooler. It will also have better battery life due to it having a single LED light instead of two, as featured on the current model. Apple will reportedly turn to Sharp for its IGZO touchscreens and ditch Samsung, which currently supplies the iPad display.
The report comes from the DigiTimes, so the usual caveat applies — take it with a grain of salt.

The Note II will also reportedly be rocking a quad-core processor and Android Jelly Bean 4.1. Samsung may also include a 12- or 13-megapixel camera and release the Note in October.
