It looks as though another ultra-portable tablet device has emerged among the ranks. This time the folks at Pepper Computer are offering an alternative to the relatively expensive “Origami” UMPC devices. This new refresh of the “Pepper Pad” looks to be an exciting offering boasting the new AMD Geode processor AND a $699 price tag. Keeping connected and entertained while on the go is getting to be more cost effective. The expected availablility of the new Pepper Pad 3 is in August, however pre-orders are already being taken by vendors.

One special feature to note (besides the somewhat enchanting price tag) is the “instant on” capability of the Pepper Pad 3. When you have 2 minutes in line at the bank or need to pull over to double check driving directions, it’s never fun to wait 90 seconds or so to boot up.
