Join us in a live video webcast on October 10th as we link up with Lenovo to celebrate 15-years of the ThinkPad! We’ll be looking at previously released and unreleased ThinkPad models to see how this venerable line of notebooks has evolved. ThinkPad product designers will be on hand to take us back in time and also field email questions from our dear readers. As an added bonus, if you register to watch ThinkLive you’re eligible to win an exclusive ThinkPad Reserve notebook valued at a cool $5,000.
So, here are the quick details on the ThinkLive event and your official party invite:
What? Lenovo and NotebookReview.com will present the ThinkLive live video webcast celebrating the 15th anniversary of the ThinkPad. We’ll be taking a look at older ThinkPad models — some of which were sold, and some of which never did quite make it onto shelves. Then we’ll see how the current ThinkPad models have built upon and improved from the way things were. At the end of the ThinkLive event we’ll invite people to submit via email any ThinkPad related questions they might have. For those that register and watch, be it live or later on, you will be automatically entered to win a ThinkPad Reserve notebook in a drawing that will occur at the end of the month.
When? October 10th at 2:00 p.m. EST (7:00 p.m. GMT). If you happen to have work during this hour, we’ll archive the video so you can watch it later of course.
Where? Register here and you’ll get access to the video cast page location and an email providing the link to it
How? All you’ll need is a web browser and Real Player to watch the event. After registering for ThinkLive there will be instructions and a system test to see if your computer is ready-to-go for watching the video.
Why? We’ll give three reasons for why you should register and watch: 1) So you can win a $5,000 ThinkPad Reserve leather clad notebook. If you register and watch, then you’re entered for the drawing that will occur at the end of this month. 2) ThinkPads have been around for 15 years and not once did the black color change, the sheer consistency is worth celebrating. 3) We’re doing this Live, so anything could happen!
We look forward to the event and hope you’ll join us for a trip down memory lane to see how things have gone from this 486SLC2 25/50Mhz CPU, 8MB memory, 120 MB hard drive capacity ThinkPad 700c seen here:
to the 2.2 GHz Core 2 Duo, 2GB memory, 120GB hard drive thin-and-light ThinkPad T61 seen here:
And don’t forget by registering you can win this ThinkPad Reserve Edition notebook (sorry, U.S. residents only are eligible to win this):
