Originally revealed at CES, Toshiba has officially announced that the Excite 10 tablet will be available for purchase early next week.
Customers can purchase the ultra-slim Android tablet on March 6 for $529. Initially under the moniker Excite X10, the Excite 10 LE will feature a 10.1-inch display with a 1280 x 800 resolution and will be covered in Gorilla Glass. It will be powered by a 1.2GHz TI OMAP 4430 processor and will run Android Honeycomb OS (3.2). Toshiba did announce that the Excite 10 LE will be receiving the Ice Cream Sandwich update this spring.
The tablet is slightly thinner and lighter than the iPad 2, measuring at 0.3 inches thick and weighing in at 1.18 pounds. Other features that will be found on the device include microUSB and microHDMI ports, a microSD card slot, a 5MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP rear-facing camera, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR connectivity.
The Excite 10 LE will come in two versions: A 16GB model for $529 and a 32GB model for $599.
