(TAIS), today announced the Port g M405-S8003, a high-performance, thin and light Tablet PC sold at major consumer electronics stores nationwide with an estimated single unit price of less than $2,0001.
Featuring business-level performance and mobility, the Port g M405-S8003 weighs approximately 4.5 pounds2 and is designed for consumers who require on-demand business applications and all the functionality of a notebook computer with the benefits of digital pen-based input and control.
The Port g M405-S8003 features the new Intel Core Duo processor3 T2400 that reduces power consumption while boosting overall performance from graphics to wireless capabilities. The Port g M405-S8003 also features EasyGuard technology4, a series of hardware and software enhancements designed to help boost mobile security, system integrity, network connectivity and overall ease-of-use.
The Port g M405-S8003 offers a bright, 12.1-inch XGA diagonal display that easily switches into “slate” mode so users can stay productive at their desk, standing, in a meeting or lounging at home. With the Port g M405-S8003, users can use the mouse, keyboard, digital-ink-enabled pen or their voice to manipulate information and maximize productivity.

The Port g M405-S8003 comes with a six-cell battery7 for up to five hours of computing time. Toshiba also equipped the Port g M405-S8003 with a swappable Ultra SlimBay for a CD-RW/DVD, DVD SuperMulti optical drives or a second hard drive for onboard data backup.
The Port g M405-S8003 notebook offers a standard one-year limited warranty8. This warranty includes carry-in support at Authorized Service Providers throughout the country, or the customer may use any of the more than 3,000 UPS Stores for packaging and delivery of the product to a centralized depot for prompt service turnaround. Customers can also choose to upgrade the notebook’s service plans, including up to four years of extended service plans.
