Strange Sightings at Newark Airport

Welcome to Newark Liberty International Airport. Here you are bound to see more than just the mecca of busy travelers connecting to destinations far and away. There are other secrets that lie between these walls that house one of the busiest NYC area airports.

Welcome to the C gates area. Here is one of the strange and somewhat frightening sights one may encounter. What does this have to do with Tablet PC’s? Well nothing really, but we had to enhance this story with some entertaining, yet useless information. So as you have heard me say before – “There really is a story here”!

What’s this? Right inside the same C Terminal as the eastern cultural type activities (see above), I saw a kiosk promoting the legendary IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad X41 Tablet PC. I had to snap some pics quickly (while the attendants had their backs turned), as I knew I would surely be told “no pictures please”.

Yep, they told me exactly that. “no pictures please”, but I quickly grabbed one more shot of the interesting endcap flagged with a large hand and pen sign attached to it. Some interesting “sails” with giant images of the X41 Tablet PC and the familiar Microsoft branding complimented the whole Lenovo/Microsoft partnersip.

So that’s the big story. Interested in Tablet PC’s. Perhaps especially interested in the X41? Want to try before you buy? Look around your nearest airport, perhaps you will spot a demo near you. It is great to see promotion of the Tablet PC making its way into the public eye. Microsoft has played up the whole promise of the Tablet, yet promotion has been minimal. The demos at CompUSA stores, colleges and airports are a great start.
