ViewSonic has added another inexpensive tablet to its lineup with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread-based ViewPad 10e.
The tablet will sport a 9.7-inch LCD (1024 x 768) display. The ViewPad 10e will be powered by a single-core 1GHz Cortex A8 processor and will come with 512MB of DDR3 memory. The Wi-Fi only tablet will come with 4GB of internal memory, with a microSD card slot expandable to 32GB, and will have a microUSB port and a miniHDMI slot. Weighing in at 620 grams, the ViewSonic 10E will feature ViewScene 3D, a ViewSonic custom skin. The tablet will also come equipped with a 1.3MP camera.
Unlike the “dual OS” setup of the ViewPad 10pro, the 10e will be running Gingerbread solo. While pricing and availability within in the U.S. is unknown, a leaked advertisement from the company shows the 10e tablet with a price tag of €250, or about $340.
ViewSonic announced three new tablets in September, though the ViewPad 10e was not one of them. The tablets announced included the ViewPad 10pro, which hit shelves Sept. 5, the ViewPad 7x, a 7-inch Honeycomb slate and the entry-level ViewPad 7e.
