Samsung announced it would ship a Wi-Fi Galaxy Tab, but offered little detail on the price. But who needs info from Samsung when a leaked Best Buy advertisement can tell us all?
According to the leaked image, the 7-inch Wi-Fi Samsung Galaxy Tab will run $499.99, which is on par with the 16GB Wi-Fi-only Apple iPad. The ad also mentions a Super AMOLED screen, which the current Galaxy Tab does not sport. A printing error perhaps?
In addition to the Wi-Fi Android tablet, it appears Best Buy will also carry the 3G Sprint and Verizon models, both “with contract and month-to-month plan.”
Both the Sprint and Wi-Fi Galaxy Tab will be available in silver, while the Verizon will be black.
Verizon announced Galaxy Tab pricing last week, setting the Android 2.2-powered tablet at $600 and offering a 1GB data plan for $20 per on a month-to-month contract. The Best Buy ad does claim “and up” next to the price, so it appears Best Buy shoppers won’t get a Verizon Galaxy Tab discount.
In another leak, the smartphone bloggers at Android Central happened across an inventory spreadsheet listing a November 14 Galaxy Tab launch date. The Verizon Galaxy Tab is set to ship November 11.
