People who have tablets and phones that support Qualcomm’s Quick Charge should be sure they buy wall chargers that also offer this technology, as these can supply power much faster than standard ones. Even better, there are QC 3.0-complaint chargers for surprisingly low prices. For example, iClever’s single-port BoostCube charger is just $12.99, and its dual-port version is $16.99.
Build and Design
iClever builds all its chargers in a standard size: 2.1 x 2.1 x 1.1 inches, and with a foldable plug for easier transport. While either of these is somewhat pocketable, they ride better in a backpack, purse, or gear bag.
The casings for these BoostCube products are plastic, and they come in white or black. Build-quality is good, and they seem fairly robust.
The main difference between the two chargers is the number of USB ports. We consider the dual-port version to be the best option, as both a tablet and phone can be charged simultaneously. Just be aware, only the bottom port [the green one] supports Quick Charge.
We tested a BoostCube with an Amazon Fire HDX 8.9, which supports Quick Charge 2.0. iClever’s product was able to give this tablet a 50% charge in 1.5 hours. For comparison, a charger designed for another device that doesn’t have QC technology was only able to give our tablet a 34% charge in that same amount of time.
This doesn’t mean that the BoostCube is better than the charger that Amazon itself supplies. The charger that is bundled with the Fire HDX 8.9 also gave a 50% charge in 1.5 hours.
Anyone not certain if their device supports Quick Charge can check a handy list on Qualcomm’s website.
To be clear, these chargers aren’t just for phones and tablets with QC. The dual-port version can supply up to 30W, and our tests show it works just fine with other devices. It was able to charge the Amazon tablet and a 12.9-inch iPad Pro at the same time.
Every tablet and phone comes with a charger, of course, but sometimes accidents masks a replacement necessary. And those who travel frequently should have chargers for all their devices that stay with their luggage so they can’t be forgotten.
The iClever BoostCube 30W Dual USB Wall Charger with Quick Charge 3.0 and BoostCube QC3.0 bring extra-fast charging to devices that support Qualcomm’s technology, and the dual-port version is well suited to charging a phone and tablet, or even two tablets, at the same time.
With the single-port version of iClever’s charger selling on Amazon for only $12.99, and its dual-port one for just $16.99, these are almost as cheap as the chargers one finds on truck stops, but significantly higher quality.
Those who don’t have a QC compatible device should consider the iClever BoostCube Dual USB Travel Wall Charger.
