SUNWORLD Smartphone and Tablet Stand Review

Most tablet deesigners emphasize slimness, which leaves no room for built-in stands and inconveniences those who want to use their mobile computer to watch movies. A very portable and cheap solution for this is the SUNWORLD Smartphone and Tablet Stand, which sells for just $3.53.

Build & Design

This cradle is a simple V shape with a hinge in the middle so it can fold flat for easy transport. It comes in black, blue, red, or white plastic, and is 4.5 x 1.25 x 0.25 inches when folded so fits easily in a pocket, and can practically disappear into a bag, case, or purse.

SUNWORLD Smartphone and Tablet Stand

A pair of notches on either arm can hold a wide range of devices: phones, mid-size tablets like the Dell Venue 8 Pro 5855, and even bigger ones like the 9.7-inch iPad Pro. SUNWORLD’s offering does an unusually good job of supporting these devices, whether they are in landscape or portrait orientation. It opens wide enough that even a fairly large tablet isn’t easily knocked over.

This stand isn’t up to handling larger computers though, like the 12.9-inch iPad Pro or Surface Pro 4. And it offers only one viewing angle.

The SUNWORLD Smartphone and Tablet Stand is well suited for those who use a tablet or phone to watch video, or who have an external keyboard that doesn’t include a way to prop up the computer, like the iClever Portable Bluetooth Keyboard.

At $3.53 on, it’s about as affordable as anyone could realistically hope. This item is also sold on Amazon as the BoxCave Portable Foldable Smartphone and Tablet Stand for $6.59.
