As it was first known as the “iPad mini with Retina display” before being renamed, it’s not surprising that the iPad mini 2 has a considerably higher resolution display than its predecessor, measuring in at 2048 x 1536 pixels. It stayed at 7.9-inches, however, so the pixel density went up to 326ppi.
Apple’s second mid-size tablet also has a considerably better processor: it uses an Apple A7 chip, which is over 5 times faster than the one in the original iPad mini.
- Excellent display quality
- Fast 64-bit Apple A7 processor
- Expensive even for basic version
- Can't expand on storage
Quick TakeThe iPad mini 2 will not disappoint when it comes to design, performance, and display quality, but users will want to consider their storage needs along with their budget because 16GB will disappear quickly.
